Sarteano is an open-air museum, accessible year-round. Your gateway to discovering it all is the Tourist Office, where you’ll be warmly welcomed and provided with all the information you need to create a tailored experience, complete with any services you might require. The Civic Archaeological Museum tells the story of the area’s past, when the Etruscans inhabited this land and left behind extraordinary tombs and artifacts, now renowned worldwide. For a glimpse into the Middle Ages, visit the fortress that overlooks the historic town, once encircled by multiple walls, some of which are still visible. Alternatively, admire a masterpiece like Beccafumi’s Annunciation, alongside other remarkable paintings at the Art Hall in the Church of San Partino.
