Ancient Art of Pen and Ink Drawing

My artwork focuses on popular art, representing life and labor in a simplified and symbolic manner. The figures, stereotyped and repeated, are meant to communicate directly with the viewer, drawing inspiration from medieval miniatures. Far from idealized realism, the large hands of workers and the disfigurement of the figures evoke a naïve experience, with historically faithful clothing and tools.
